What We Do
Lowcountry Quarterback Academy is South Carolina’s elite quarterback training and development company. Founded by former Charleston Southern quarterback, Danny Croghan, Lowcountry QB currently trains middle school, high school and college quarterbacks in the Charleston area. Our training sessions focus on proper footwork, mobility, and throwing mechanics. Our goal is to give our quarterbacks the tools and confidence they need to be successful at every level of the game.
Our Approach
When playing quarterback, attention to detail is crucial. Our quarterbacks build a solid foundation by learning the fundamentals first. After our quarterbacks have mastered the fundamentals, we progress onto advanced principles of the game based on the offensive systems they play in and the defensive systems they compete against.
Our mission is to make an everlasting impact on our clients. We design every session to maximize our client’s potential and realize individual goals. During our sessions, we work on the following:
Foot speed, lateral quickness and agility
Footwork in the pocket and on the run
Pocket presence and escape skills
Shoulder strength and durability
Throwing mechanics
Throwing accuracy

Danny Croghan - Owner & QB Coach
Danny Croghan is the owner and lead QB coach at Lowcountry Quarterback Academy, where he combines years of playing and coaching experience to help quarterbacks reach their full potential.
A Charleston native, Danny attended Bishop England High School, where he played quarterback and helped lead the Battling Bishops to their first football state championship in school history. His standout performance earned him multiple honors, including All-Region, Offensive Player of the Year, All-State, and selection to the North-South All-Star Game.
Danny continued his football career at Charleston Southern University (CSU) on a full athletic scholarship. As a Buccaneer, he helped lead CSU to its best record in program history (10–3) and earned multiple Big South Freshman of the Week awards before being named Big South Conference Freshman of the Year. During his senior season, Danny played a key role in guiding the team to a Big South Championship and Charleston Southern’s first-ever FCS playoff berth and victory.
After graduating, Danny returned to his roots at Bishop England to begin his coaching career. He spent three seasons as the JV Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach before being promoted to Varsity Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach.
For the past six years, Danny has led Lowcountry Quarterback Academy, overseeing client development and training programs. During that time, Lowcountry Quarterback Academy has trained hundreds of athletes from across South Carolina—including Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, Columbia, and Greenville—helping them reach their goals, some of which competing at the collegiate, Division I level. Danny remains dedicated to developing the next generation of quarterbacks—on and off the field.
